Prayer Life

Our Lady of the Visitation Parish is actively working in the world to inspire and encourage prayer in our daily lives. What better way to start this communion with our God than to express our gratefulness for all that we have. See what some of our parishioners are grateful for."

Prayers of Supplication

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:6-7

What is supplication?
According to dictionary.com, supplication is “humble prayer, entreaty, or petition.” We ask God for what we want or need, especially those things that glorify God and help others.

The Parish Book of Prayer is a way to offer prayers for your loved ones or for those whom you have been asked to pray. This book is permanently located in the back of church and available to all parishioners, even our children. Perhaps writing an intention as a family each week would be a way to show our youngest parishioners that it is always okay to ask God for help!

Prayer Wall - Post a prayer on our website’s Prayer Wall by clicking the “Outreach & Pastoral Care” tab at the top of the home page or by using this link:

You can also pray for others’ intentions and let them know you did so by clicking on the “I prayed for you” button.
