Flaming torches represent illumination and enlightenment.

The opened book with the Chi Rho cross suggests that Christ through his life revealed the truths written in the Gospels. Knowledge of the good news proclaimed in the Gospels has been opened up for all.

In the beginning
(the Alpha)
was the Word,
and the Word was
with God.

At the end
(the Omega)
is Christ,
who through his death and resurrection has given us the final gospel word - Salvation.

AUGUST 24, 2008

    1. The dedication of the Armed Forces memorial rock advertised in the bulletin and scheduled for next Sunday has been postponed. Watch the bulletin for the rescheduled date.
    2. The Parish Picnic is Friday of this week beginning at 5 p.m. at Stricker's Grove. Please see the flyer in today's bulletin for more details.
    3. Please pray for Elizabeth Flamm who died this past week.

      4. 10:30 Mass only There will be a blessing for expectant parents following Mass today.

    1. The Festival Chicken Dinner is in need of desserts. Please drop off desserts at the Multipurpose Room between 8:30 and 2:30 on Sunday. All desserts are greatly appreciated.

AUGUST 3, 2008

    1. Major Award tickets are available after Mass today in front of church.
    2. This is the last week before festival and we are in desperate need for volunteers to help with parking. We need between 75-80 people to step forward and take one of the 6 shifts available. Please see the sign-up board at the Major Award table.
    3. Please see the parish website to bid on a great festival parking space and check out our Bid 'n' Buy items.
    4. Please pray for Jack Taylor who died this past week. He is the father of Mary Lee Rinear.

JULY 27, 2008

    1. Major Award tickets are available after Mass today in front of church.
    2. This is the week we are conducting our PROJECT 5000 fund drive for Mercy Franciscan at St. John. Please see today's bulletin for more details.
    3. Festival is in need of volunteers to help with parking, poker, Bid 'n' Buy, Putt for Dough and Split the Pot. Please stop by the Major Award table after Mass to sign-up, or call the Parish Office. A chairperson is also needed for parking.
