VISI VITALS
Dress Code

Parent/guardian support in following the school dress code is greatly appreciated. By helping students choose appropriate clothing and maintain a neat, respectful appearance, families play an important role in creating a positive learning environment. We encourage parents and guardians to help their children come to school dressed appropriately and ready to learn, while allowing them to express themselves within the dress code guidelines.

Preschool students do not wear school uniforms. Many of our daily activities include painting, sensory play, outdoor exploration, and other hands-on experiences. Children should wear comfortable, washable play clothes that allow them to participate fully in all activities and should allow children to use the restroom independently. Please keep in mind that preschoolers learn through exploration and play and may get messy during the school day.

Recommended clothing includes:
Pull-on pants, shorts, skirts with shorts underneath, or leggings, comfortable knit shirts long or short sleeved and athletic or gym shoes with Velcro closures. To promote safety and independence, please do not send children in sandals, Crocs or similar slip-on shoes, boots or dress shoes.

For safety reasons, children should not wear clothing that may interfere with active play. Dresses with tulle, long flowing fabric, or decorative embellishments are not permitted, as they can become caught on playground equipment or classroom furniture and may present a safety hazard  during climbing and movement activities.

Extra Clothing
Each child must keep a complete change of clothes in their classroom canvas bag in case of accidents or spills. Please place the following items in a labeled gallon-sized resealable plastic bag:
Shirt, shorts or pants, underwear and socks. Be sure all items are clearly marked with your child's name. Please check the extra clothing regularly to ensure it is seasonally appropriate and still fits, as preschoolers grow quickly.

• These are the only shorts permitted for PE.

• Available only through the Spiritwear Shop

Official Visitation PE Sweatpants
• These are the only sweatpants permitted for PE.
• These may be worn for the whole school day over the PE uniform shorts, removing them only during gym class if desired, or in place of the PE uniform shorts.

From the first day of school until October 15th, and from April 15th until the last day of school, students may substitute the warm weather uniform for the regular uniform. These dates may be extended by the principal depending on the weather.

Navy blue twill, or uniform walking shorts may be worn the first day of school thru October 15th and then beginning April 15th. No cargo pants. Shorts and skorts should be a modest length within 4 inches of the knee.

Wear with a plain, short sleeved white or light blue polo.

All other rules regarding socks, shoes, personal, etc. still apply. Shorts may not be layered, that is, no other shorts, pants, etc. may show below the regulation shorts.

Fun Friday Uniform
The Fun Friday Uniform consists of the current school year's Fun Friday T-shirt paired with the student's regular uniform bottoms.
• Girls should wear their uniform jumper, skirt, or skort with the Fun Friday T-shirt.
• Boys should wear their uniform pants or shorts (depending on the season) with the Fun Friday T-shirt.

Purchasing a Fun Friday T-shirt is optional. Students who choose not to purchase or wear the Fun Friday T-shirt should wear their regular school uniform shirt with their standard uniform bottoms.

Out of Uniform Days
Throughout the school year, students may have special themed out-of-uniform days (such as Funny Hat Day, holiday themes, or Visi Spirit Days). On these occasions, students will often hear, "All normal out-of-uniform rules apply." This means that all clothing must be neat, clean, modest, and appropriate for a Catholic school environment. Clothing or accessories that display or promote inappropriate or controversial messages are not permitted. Parents may be contacted to bring a change of clothes, or the school may provide alternate clothing if available. Students will not return to class until they are dressed appropriately.
